The Photographer

Florence Liger d’Avignonis a French artist, and photographer, based in Provence (Aramon). Born in 1968, she spent her childhood walking around the countryside of Provence, imagining words and images of her own creation. From ​7 years old on, she experimented with photography and sculpting, then delved into drawing as a teenager.
1995-2005With a degree in French literature and communication, she worked for various industrial companies such as Roche and Alcatel…
2004-2016From 2004, she focused entirely on painting. In tandem to producing art, she also ran a studio formore than ten years near Montmatre. There began her first work with families. After twenty years in Paris (2013), she moved back home to Provence (Gard) while maintaining the satellite atelier in « Les Batignolles ».
2016 to presentIn August of 2016, she sold her Parisian studio in order to focus her artistic life in the south of France. After an internship with the National School of Photography in Arles, she participated in her first photography exhibition in December of 2016. From then on, she decided to concentrate on photography, using it as a primary medium instead of initial step to prepare paintings.

Florence Liger d’Avignonest une artiste ​photographe ​française, basée en Provence (Aramon). Née en 1968, elle a vécu son enfance marchant dans la campagne ​provençale, prenant des photos, imaginant des images et des mots.
Dès ses 7 ans, elle pratique le modelage, puis rapidement la photographie. A l’adolescence, elle s’oriente vers le dessin.
 
1995-2005
Diplômée en littérature française et communication, elle travaille environ 10 ans dans la communication pour différentes entreprises industrielles (Laboratoires Roche, Alcatel…).
 
2004-2016
Depuis 2004, elle se consacre à la peinture. En parallèle de sa création artistique, elle crée et dirige pendant plus de 10 ans un atelier de peinture aux Batignolles (Paris, France). C’est dans cet atelier que naît son premier travail sur la famille.
En juin 2013, après une vingtaine d’années aux Batignolles (Paris), elle déménage dans le Gardtout en gardant son atelier parisien.
 
2016 à ce jour
En août 2016, elle vend son atelier parisien
et s’installe complètement dans le Gard.
En décembre 2016, suite à une formation
à l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie d’Arles (ENSP),elle participe à sa première exposition collective en tant que photographe.
Dès lors la photographie, qui était une part préliminaire à l’élaboration de ses tableaux, devient un média à part entière.
