Original Paintings & Fine Art Prints by Florence Liger d’Avignon
Amazonia – Original Abstract Paintings
Amazonia is a collection of original abstract and visionary paintings and fine art prints by Florence Liger d’Avignon inspired by the living energy of the Amazon rainforest.
Through flowing organic forms and vibrant pigments, these artworks explore the symbolic language of jungle lianas, sacred plants and the vital rhythms of nature.
Inspired by journeys in the Peruvian Amazon and encounters with Shipibo traditions, the Amazonia series reflects a deep connection between inner transformation and the living forces of the rainforest.

Amazonia — Origins
During my first journey, four of us travelled deep into the Peruvian Amazon to the Shipibo community of Rao Ichaya Mai with the maestra Olivia Arevalo and her family. She came to meet us at the airport in Pucallpa, barefoot, before we continued with two days by motor canoe and long hours of walking through water into the heart of the forest.
My friends and I participated in many shamanic ayahuasca ceremonies. Through these profound experiences, I encountered visionary states and symbolic worlds connected to what many in the Amazon describe as the living intelligence of the forest.
These experiences deeply transformed my perception of nature and awakened a visual language that would later unfold in my artistic work.
The drawings presented here were created during my travels in the Amazon rainforest. Working with watercolor, ink and natural pigments, I explored spontaneous gestures, symbols and organic structures inspired by the surrounding forest.
These drawings became the first seeds of later series such as Mystic Lianas and Sacred Portal.

These original drawings were created directly in the Amazon rainforest and form the foundation of Florence Liger d’Avignon’s later large-scale abstract paintings.
Amazonia
With the Shipibo and Maestra Olivia Arevalo
This collection is rooted in Florence Liger d’Avignon’s journeys to the Peruvian Amazon, where she spent time with the Shipibo and the powerful and revered Shipibo healer Maestra Olivia Arevalo. Immersed in the rainforest and its sacred plant traditions, these experiences deeply influenced the organic patterns, visionary forms and vibrant colors that emerge throughout the Amazonia series.
The Amazonia drawings mark the beginning of a visual language that would later unfold into the Mystic Lianas and Sacred Portal series.
Created in the heart of the rainforest, these works are the first seeds of forms, symbols and energies that would continue to grow in Florence Liger d’Avignon’s later paintings.
